Very high specification components tested and selected for optimum results
The Bush Winch:
The Bush Winch, formed out of die-cast aluminum, is manufactured exclusively for Bush Winches and Anchors Pty Ltd by Performance Alloy Wheels of Adelaide under AS/NZS ISO 9002 accreditation. Extensive prototype development and testing of the product preceded production.
Winch and Bridle Ropes:
Dynex SK75 rope manufactured by the world leading and accredited rope manufacturer Hampidjan has been selected for use with the Bush Winch. Dynex SK75 uses DSM’s Dyneema Fibre -Ultra High Molecular weight Polyethylene (UHMwPE). SK75 rope is light weight (floats in water), is very strong and durable, has minimal stretch and is soft to handle. The rope is especially coloured red to improve visibility. The limited elasticity, soft touch and light weight of the rope reduces the risk of recoil and hand injury and enables long lengths to be carried with minimal weight.
Wheel nuts/bolts, Ground Anchor and Guides:
The wheel nuts are fabricated to Bush Winch and Anchors Pty design and specifications by various specialised manufacturers already supplying wheel nuts/bolts to the car industry. Conservative engineering parameters are applied to ensure mechanical and structural integrity of the wheel nuts/bolts for use with your vehicle and the Bush Winch.
The steel Ground Anchor and Guides are fabricated to Bush Winch and Anchors Pty Ltd design and specifications by various third party specialised metal fabricators. Extensive prototype development and field testing has been conducted ahead of material selection and manufacture.
Winching from the wheels:
Winching from axle level with the wheels working in unison is ideal. In a bog the vehicle tends to ride up and out following the tight winch rope rather than being ploughed ahead while being dragged from the higher bull bar level. The loads on the vehicle, winch rope and anchor points are generally lower so your chances of a successful recovery are better. The fact that the very light weight low stretch winch rope also produces very low kinetic energy means that the risk of recoil damage or injury from rope or anchor failure is significantly reduced.
